  • I'm interested in doing some canning this spring and summer. Since I have no idea what I'm doing, I just ordered this book and I've been looking around here and here (if you have any tips, please share)!
  • I am very excited. I found someone who will do embroidery on some of my PUL (waterproof) fabric and then I can make my own cute diapers with embroidery on the butt! Now to decide which designs I want, cut the PUL, and get it in the mail.
  • I'm into super-mindless knitting these days, so yesterday I started a baby blanket for the preemie project. I'm using some yellow sirdar snowflake from my stash and I'm doing the basic dishcloth style.
  • Happy Valentine's Day! Henry is wearing a heart t-shirt from his aunt Kerri and one of the valentine diapers that I made. Later the three of us will be going out for a romantic dinner at Denny's. Heh.

Every time I go to amazon I look at that book but never buy it. For all I know, it's residing in my cart with all the other "saved for later" items. Let us know how you like it!

I did some canning for the first time this summer. I canned some dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, tomatoes and my husband canned some figs and some peppers. It wasn't as hard as I thought and those books will help I'm sure. One tip: I put the labels on the lid instead of the jar. That way when the jar is empty you don't have to work hard to remove the label, just throw the lid away. You can't reuse them anyway. Save the jars and bands to use again.

Stocking up from Rodale is a great book. I also love Edon Waycott's Preserving the Taste but I think it is O/P.
