What I've been working on

Here's my progress on Poppy Baby (getting close)!

and here's a little baby romper that I made from some JoAnns clearance knit fabric

it has snap tape in the crotch and everything (which is a real pain to put in)!

Finally, here's a pillow that is a mother's day gift for my mom

I cannot take credit for the beautiful hibiscus cross stitch because I bought it completed on eBay for super cheap. I did buy the fabric and make it into a pillow, though (my mom loves hibiscus flowers and she was just telling me the other day that her living room 'needs' some new throw pillows to brighten things up for spring).

I finally started back at my temp job today, which is good (but leaves me very tired). So I don't know how regularly I'll be posting in the next 4-6 weeks.

Sewing and Cross stitch

Over the weekend I decided that I needed a new maternity night gown. So I sewed this one in just an hour or 2

I know, it doesn't look like much. It's a dark navy knit fabric with little blue flowers (purchased for almost nothing at fabric.com) and it has an empire waist. It's super comfortable and that's what I was looking for! I'm planning to make another one (maybe with sleeves) in a different fabric to use as a swimsuit coverup.

I made quite a bit of progress on Poppy Baby. Here's how it looks now

Cross Stitch

Recently, I've been in the mood to cross stitch. I sorted through my stash and decided to work this ufo called Poppy Baby by Country Companions. Here's where I am right now.

Isn't he cuuute? I'd like to put it on the door of the nursery.

Photos day for Ms. J

I've been busy sewing and here's proof. First, my summer tote/knitting/diaper bag.

baby shorts (the ones on the right have little bumblebees on them)

Finally, I finished sewing my second dozen fitted cloth diapers. It's kind of hard to see in the photo, but there are two of each knit print.

Yesterday I took a break from diapers to sew myself a new summer tote bag and matching coin purse. I was at Walmart the other day and saw some $2/yd prints with watermelon and blueberries on them. For some reason I really like fruit prints and they just called out to be a summer tote. It's pretty cute...I will maybe post a pic tomorrow. I also finished up some sewing ufos that I started who knows when...two pairs of cotton print baby shorts!

Today I am watching baseball (Padres/Cubs doubleheader, then another doubleheader on espn2...phew)! While doing that I have been sorting through my cross stitch stash. It's funny how once the weather gets warmer I'm less interested in knitting and more interested in sewing and cross stitch. And since I can't sew quietly in front of the tv (which is what I usually do in the evenings with my knitting), I want to find a cross stitch project to work on. I'm either going to start with a small kit or one of my many ufos (like something for baby).

Uh, did I mention that I'm obsessed with sewing cloth diapers? On the right are 12 finished fitted diapers in size newborn. On the left is the cut out fabric to make 12 more (the cutting out is what takes the longest)! Then I plan to move on to size small, because some babies outgrow the newborn size very quickly!

I'm still alive

I've just been busy and tired and I haven't felt much like blogging. My mom and sister's visit was great and so was the baby shower. I think I am still recovering.

I have been busy doing a little bit of knitting and a lot of sewing. Current obsession: sewing cloth diapers. It's really fun.

In other news, I am officially in my third trimester. Woohoo! I go back and forth between really enjoying pregnancy, being scared out of my mind, and being anxious to meet this new baby! I guess that's fairly normal(??)

I should be going back to work (at the temp job) sometime this week. Looks like this job will last for at least a month. That's perfect cuz we could use the money. And 4-6 weeks from now, I will probably be about ready to be done working!
