Yesterday I wrote a nifty post with lots of links and of course blogger ate it. Maybe another time.

I am still sick, but getting better. I took Monday and Tuesday off work, and Tuesday I was actually able to do some knitting while sitting on the couch watching bad tv. It was a secret book project, though, so I can't tell ya much about it. I can say that I'm working with Cascade 220 for the first time (can you believe it?) and it's yummy!

My sister (who just recently started knitting) sent me the most adorable pair of green baby booties that she made for the baby! I wish I could post a pic, but um, I still don't know where the camera is. Maybe this weekend I will find it (between me being sick and DH working, we haven't unpacked much of anything).

I'm sick. I have one of those nasty colds that make your sinuses pound, your eyes water, and everything else just plain hurt. Yesterday I went through an entire box of Kleenex with lotion (the big box).

Needless to say, I wasn't much help with the move this weekend. Thank goodness for DH and his friends. Everything is officially at our new place now, although nothing is unpacked and I am too sick to care.

Not much knitting to speak of. I did finish MIL's slipper socks a few nights ago. No pic cuz, well, the camera is packed away somewhere. I'm off to go lie on the futon. Maybe I will knit a few rounds on a sock.

P.S. I had an OB appointment today and I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time!!!!!

My life is soooo boring right now, especially in terms of knitting. Yesterday at lunch, I did a few rows on the pink opal sock. Last night while watching tv, I knit a few rows on MIL's sock. Seriously. That's it.

Otherwise, I'm always working or tired. Oh yeah, and packing. Oh how I hate the packing. I guess I shouldn't complain that much since I won't be doing any of the actual moving. You know, delicate condition and all that. DH is renting a moving truck on Saturday and luckily he has some friends that are going to help him out with the big stuff.

My excitement for today was going to Mervyn's on my lunch hour. I had a giftcard (a xmas gift from DH) that was burning a hole in my purse. Seriously, that's probably the longest I've gone without spending one of those things. I found a bunch of Holly Robinson Peete maternity clothes on clearance so I totally scored. woohoo!

I made it through my first week at my new job. It's not too bad so far. I haven't done much knitting all week, though. One day at lunch I pulled out the pink Opal socks that I started a while ago and knit a few rows on the ribbing of sock #2. The lady sitting next to me was very interested because she said that she recently taught herself to knit and has been making scarves and hats.

Last weekend I did finally pick up the stitches and start the hood for Rogue. It's a damn giant hood with lots of cabling so it's going to take me a while. I feel bad that it's not getting finished, though, as my sister could use it in this cold and snow they've been having in Washington state!

I did finished the first MIL slipper sock and started the second. I turned the heel today and hopefully I fill finish it up this weekend. Of course what I really need to do is finish packing (did I mention that we postponed moving until next weekend)?

Oh, I almost forgot! Did you know that the new season of Knitty Gritty has begun? Here is when you can see the episode with me as one of the knitsters!

No knitting going on here. The new job is going ok, but I'm trying to get used to actually working 8 hours a day again (plus the commute, etc). Not to mention the fact that I'm still tired all the time due to the pregnancy and I can't have coffee. Mornings are looonnngg. Today I had a little time after I ate lunch and I was going to knit (of course I had a sock in my purse), but I decided to go outside and take a walk instead. It finally stopped raining and I figured maybe walking would help keep me awake for the rest of the afternoon.

I finished DH's boring black scarf. No pics cuz well.....it's a boring black scarf. I should continue to work on MIL's socks, but I really want to start a new baby sweater. The babysweaters group is starting a new knit-a-long shortly.

Introducing my first FO of 2005

oh the excitement, I know. It's an ipod cozy (being modeled by a box of checks. ahem. I don't have an ipod). It's just a ribbed tube using some leftover Opal tiger sock yarn. It's in the mail to my sister so I hope she likes it (and I hope it fits)!

I'm almost finished with DH's boring black scarf. The big yarn and big needles hurt my hands so I can only work on it for so long before I have to put it down.

I started a pair of socks for my MIL's birthday, which is in early February. I'm using Lorna's Laces worsted in sandridge and just doing basic short slipper socks. One, because I want to finish them quickly and two, MIL has large feet and I need to have enough yarn!

I received the yarn for a secret book project, so I need to start swatching for that. I also signed up for Alison's sockapalooza so I'm thinking about what pattern I want to use for my pal's socks. Oh yeah, and just cuz I'm insane, I signed up for this knit-a-long sock as well.

I'm off to pack and watch football. Go Green Bay!!!!!

Urg. I am so irritated. I wrote a fabulous post yesterday--with pictures--and blogger ate it. Today I am too tired to re-create. I thought I was supposed to be 'full of energy' in the second trimester? Well bah humbug to that.

My temp job starts on Monday, which is good cuz we need the money. Of course the timing sucks since we have tons of packing to do and we will be doing most of our moving about a week from now.

Did I mention that I'm knitting a scarf for DH? He requested a black one (boring), so I picked up some black woolease thick n quick at Michael's and I'm just doing a 1x1 rib.

Off to take a nap, I mean pack and do laundry.

Well, I wasn't planning on making any New Year's resolutions this year (other than goofy ones like gain weight, give birth, etc). But somehow I did come up with 2:

1. Learn to crochet. For real. Finally.
2. Bring re-useable bags when I go shopping.

Yes, these two are related. Since we are planning to move into our new apartment in a few weeks, we have started de-cluttering and packing. I unearthed 5 million plastic grocery bags that I couldn't throw away, so I am recycling them into yarn. There are lots of cool patterns to crochet tote bags and rugs with this 'yarn' (plus it's much faster than knitting), hence the need to learn to crochet. There are also lots of neat new patterns out there like the special Interweave crochet issue and this baby book.
