Cool...I got my newest IK today. It's a great issue if you ask me. There are tons of things in there that I would love to make....including the top on the cover by Joan M-M and the koigu socks. Also, while at the bookstore I checked out Ultimate Knitting magazine because I knew my friend Liz Adams had a design in there. Well actually, she had two and they're pretty cute.

Again, not much knitting news. I worked a little on my regia stretch sock last night. I am busy getting ready for our mini-vacation: finishing stuff up at work and whatnot. Why is there always something really important happening right when I want to take time off? Oh well.

Look what I bought yesterday! I love the color and I'm interested in trying a cotton/tencel blend. I bought enough for a sweater, although I'm not sure what pattern I will use.

Yay, I finally did some knitting last night. It's funny, I thought I was going to do so much knitting while DH was out of town, but I ended up sleeping & cleaning & watching tv the whole time. Then last night he came home and had to spend time on the computer doing work and I just relaxed and knit away. I spent some time on the braids cardigan and then when I got bored with that I pulled out my half-done regia stretch sock.

I think I will take the regia cotton socks and regia stretch socks on my trip to Las Vegas this weekend since DH will probably do all the driving. Sunday is our 1-year wedding anniversary so we are driving to Vegas on Thursday and returning on Saturday. Don't worry, I already found the yarn shop and printed out directions. :) yay!

Picture time! Here is regia cotton funny steps sock #1. Here is my braids cardigan so far, although it's not photographing very well.

Last night I finally finished regia cotton sock #1. Well, I just have to graft the toes. I will have to post some pics later today of that and my braids cardigan.

I have to say that I agree with Darilyn 100% -- I don't feel like reading knitting blogs anymore either (except hers of course). I'm sick of all the fighting and negativity. I get enough of that in other places....bleh.

Anyway, not much knitting content again today I'm afraid. Last night I was beat so I just vegged in front of the tv. So far today I have been busy cleaning house because a friend is coming for dinner later. I need to go to the grocery store as well. She's bringing a great vietnamese noodle dish and I'm going to make a huge salad and some sort of dessert. I was thinking about carrot cake again, but it's a bit warm today so I don't want to turn on the oven. Maybe just some sugar-free pudding or something. I will do some knitting later and I might even give my friend a few lessons. She has been wanting to learn.

I'm beat. Still. Hooray for Fridays. DH is out of town this weekend so I have the whole weekend to do whatever I want. Well, mostly knit, cross stitch, maybe sew, cook, clean, and shop. Oh, and knit. LOL Maybe I'll make some progress on the braids cardigan and organize my stash a little bit. I'll post some pics. Have a good weekend!

Ugh. I am so tired. I guess that's what happens when you start actually working hard at work. LOL Not sure what my problem is, but I go to the doc later today for a complete physical. On the knitting front, I am just working on those regias. I love knitting plain socks when I'm tired and can't concentrate on anything else.

I was really tired yesterday so I didn't do much knitting. I forgot to bring a wip for my lunchbreak so we went out to eat instead. Last night I did a few rows on my Manos shawl for UFO night on the ample-knitters list. Bor-ring. Then I picked up my regia socks and did a little bit on those. That's about all the news I have! I'm pretty busy at work.

I started a sock yesterday on the drive to L.A. (acupressure wrist bands and diet ginger ale kept me from getting carsick). I'm using some new yarn I got from eweknitkits--Regia cotton plus "funny steps". I think that's what it's called. It's really just a vareigated blue and white with short little lines of black scattered throughout. I'll take a pic sometime this week. I'm making the leg fairly short and I managed to get all the way to picking up the gusset stitches last night. I'm so glad that knitting is portable--it made yesterday a lot more bearable!!

Happy Easter. Kind of in the theme of spring, here is a pic of what I sent Darilyn for the lace exchange.

I did a fair amount of knitting on the braids cardigan yesterday. Of course, the progress seems slow because each row has a lot of stitches since you're doing the back and the 2 fronts all at the same time. I think I will start a new pair of cotton blend socks today while we drive up to L.A. I just don't feel like working on 100% wool ones right now.

TGIF TGIF TGIF! This has been a very long week and I'm glad it's finally over. I don't have much in the way of interesting knitting news. I haven't been knitting a lot over the past few days except for a little on my Easter sock. Yesterday I did get a small package from eweknitkits--sock yarn, of course (cotton blend for me). This weekend I'm hoping to finish the Easter sock and then I am free to work on the braids cardigan and the peace shawl. I will probably bring socks on Sunday when we go to L.A. Have a good weekend!

Well, I skipped out on the knitting meetup last night and went to Subway with DH. After that we came home and he watched baseball (bor-ring) and I worked on my Easter sock. I just finished picking up the gusset stitches so this baby should be done in no time!

I'm continuing on easter sock #2 and hope to finish it so I can wear them to my MIL's on Sunday. Everyone always oooh & ahhhs over my socks (mostly cuz they want me to knit them a pair). Tonight is the knitting meetup so I am planning on attending if I feel up to it. That will be a good opportunity to work on the sock.

I am determined to knit in the car Saturday during the 2 hour drive to L.A. (DH and DBIL will be talking about baseball the whole time, I'm sure). The only problem is I get motion sickness if I knit in the car. I think I will go to the drugstore and pick up some of those accupressure bands that you put on your wrist. Worth a try, since I don't want to take dramamine (puts me to sleep).

Crappy day at work + first paycheck with yearly increase = retail therapy at elann. I bought some of the Schaffhauser Malta because it looks pretty and it's made in Croatia. I think I will use the white to make something for MIL for Christmas (she was born in Croatia). She will get a real kick out of that. I also bought some of the turquoise to make something for me.

Easter sock #1 is done. It fits perfectly and is very cute. I will probably cast on for #2 at lunchtime today.

I worked on the braids cardigan yesterday too. I finished the 5 inches of the left front and then joined all 3 pieces together. Now it's just straight knitting in pattern for like 19 inches or so.

Elann has Jaeger Chamonix for 50% today. It's killing me to not to order any. But (ahem) I still have a bunch of it in my stash that I haven't used yet. It's awesome yarn, though, so you might want to check it out!

I love weekends because I have time to knit and cook (housework? what's that??) This morning I made whole wheat sugar-free cinnamon rolls. I know that sounds about as appetizing as Jackson's kibble, but I've been craving cinnamon rolls lately and they weren't too bad. Then I made homemade cole slaw for tonight's dinner and right now I have some fresh beets roasting in the toaster oven. I love my organic CSA because it forces me to use vegetables that I don't normally buy (fresh roasted beets are really good)!

I did some knitting yesterday on my braids cardigan. Then it hit me that Easter is next week so I figured I better get my butt in gear and finish my Easter socks! LOL

Picture day! First, a mini-happy dance because the purple socks are done! Here is a pic of me modeling them before I threw them in the washer. Apparently Jackson finds them tres boring.

This morning I took out the braids cardigan and worked on it a little. It's initially worked from the bottom up in 3 pieces because it has 5-inch side vents. Then you join it and work the rest pretty much all in one piece. I tried to take a photo but it didn't really turn out. Here's a close-up of the braids part. I have 5 inches done on the back and the right front so now I need to start the left front. It's a fun pattern.

Lastly, here is a pic of my trekking easter egg socks in progress! Aren't they cute?

Uh, I didn't go to SnB last night cuz I wasn't feeling well. I did manage to start and finish my item for the lace exchange. I don't want to post a pic cuz that would ruin the suprise, but I will tell you that it's yellow! :) Have a great, knitty weekend!

Tonight I have a stitch and bitch at the Starbucks near my house and guess what I will be working on? You guessed it--socks! I am on the foot of purple sock #2 so maybe I will be able to finish them tonight, wash them over the weekend, and mail them out on Monday. Then my sister will have them in time to pack them for her trip. I'm looking forward to working on the peace shawl over the weekend and maybe even the braids cardigan.

I'm still working on socks...the purple ones & the easter egg ones. Today I purchased gifts for my sister's birthday & mother's day so I don't have to worry about knitting for them. This way I can knit more for meeee (oh, and start holiday gifts too).

So many things to knit and so little time! I am feeling antsy cuz I have lots of wips and lots of other things I want to start but I can't decide what gets priority. I have a few with deadlines, but of course that makes me want to avoid them. I need to do a project for a lace exchange by the end of the month and my sister needs to get her purple socks before she leaves on the 21st. I also started my cute trekking socks and I want to have those done so I can wear them for Easter, which is the 20th. Then there's the peace shawl, which I love so I really want to work on it and the ample-knitters list is talking about doing a shawl knit-a-long. Not to mention that I just got my sheep shawl pattern for that knit-a-long and I want to start the pacific northwest shawl for my sister's bday (in July). I also want to work on the braids cardigan cuz that would be so great to have now and for the summer for cool nights or air conditioned places. I don't think I will knit anything for my mom for mother's day this year, and I haven't even started thinking about Christmas gifts. Do you ever feel this way about your knitting? Maybe I've just had too much caffeine this morning......

Wow, what a good day to stay at home and wait for the mailman to come! I got: 1) a skein of the new Trekking XXL sock yarn in the "spring" colorway (easter egg colors) from darling Karen, 5 skeins of Fortissima Colori 1000 from elann, my sheep shawl kit (the pattern plus some great hand-dyed yarn from Joslyn's in the "ocean" colorway), a cone of linen/cotton from eBay, and a small skein of soysilk from eBay. I think I'm going to faint.

Well, I didn't really get much knitting done yesterday as I wan't feeling well. I think I have a sinus infection :( I did the first few rows of the forest lace on the shawl and then started a project for a lace exchange. I should know better than to do lace when I'm not feeling well because I ended up having to rip the whole thing. I'm home from work today but my brain is kind of fuzzy so I think maybe I should stick to a washcloth or something!

Hurrah for Sunday! DH is at some motorcycle thingy and I have nothing that really has to be done. I get to lounge around the house and knit and maybe do some cooking. My stomach hasn't been feeling so good so I don't know about the cooking--maybe I'll just make a big pitcher of peppermint tea!

I finished the star lace on the peace shawl and I'm hoping to work on it for several hours today. I'm continuing to work on socks on and off.

Picture day! Here is the bracelet Karen made for me. Isn't it cute? And it looks even prettier in the sunlight. Here is purple sock #1--nothing interesting there. Here is the progress I've made so far on the peace shawl (ignore the red safety lines). This is so fun to work on and I'm almost done with the star lace (I haven't done much on it in the last few days).

Hey, I almost forgot about blogging today! I'm just glad it's Friday. DH has lots of motorcycle racing & college basketball to watch on tv this weekend so that means I get to lounge around the house and knit. Wheee!! Yesterday I started purple sock #2 and only did a few rows on my shawl.

Last night was a sock knitting kind of night. I got home late because I had acupuncture after work so I was too tired to work in the shawl. I finished the first purple sock with just a tiny bit of yarn to spare. I really thought I was going to run out, but I figured different colored toes wouldn't be the end of the world. Then I knit a little on my Regia Stretch sock. Karen sent me an awesome crocheted and beaded necklace/bracelet. I will post pics this weekend. Oh yeah, elann has Fortissima Colori 1000 sock yarn for 50% off today. I went there at 7 am my time and they were already sold out of the colors I wanted (I did still manage to buy 5 balls, however. ahem).

I worked on the peace shawl some yesterday--fun! I'm almost done with the star lace so I will post a pic when it's finished. Then I move on the to evergreen tree lace.

I started a new pair of socks last night. I've discovered that I really prefer to knit socks in sock weight (or fingering weight) yarn on US 1 needles. I just can't get myself to work on those purple dk socks (it doesn't help that I especially don't like that yarn)! So I pulled out some regia stretch in a olive green/brown colorway and cast on. I haven't used this yarn yet and I am anxious to see how it works up. They should be really comfortable cuz of the stretch, and it looks like they might come out looking a bit camouflaug-ey.

Well, now that I've decided that I'm definitely addicted to lace knitting (along with my well-known sock-knitting addiction), I have gone over the deep edge and joined a shawl club. eeekk!

Last night for UFO night I organized the knitting basket next to my chair, finished an organic cotton washcloth, and did several rows on my Manos de Uruguay shawl. Then I went to bed early cuz I head a headache!
